“Chef Massimo Costanzi’s restaurant, Il Grottino di Zio Totò, opened in 2005, and is a well loved destination for a discerning clientele who appreciate his attention to the finer details of traditional Umbrian cuisine. He is delighted to be able to share his knowledge and skills by teaching 1/2 day or 1 week cooking courses to a maximum of 6 people per course: 5 half days per week, with each 3 hour class covering various aspects of cooking; Monday evening classes run throughout the year – an entire meal for you and an invited guest to share; Tuesday to Friday mornings detail each course of the meal: antipasti, starters; primi – home made pasta and sauces; secondi – meat dishes and accompaniments; dolci – desserts. Tuesday to Friday courses run during the summer months or by special arrangement. Accommodation can be arranged in the historic town centre on request.
Alternatively, a full one week course is available with afternoon gastronomic visits, combining culinary interest with sightseeing in the beautiful cities of Todi, Montefalco, and Orvieto. Accommodation for this is provided in a nearby exquisite medieval village, now a family run agriturismo; kitchen and cooking facilities provided, and swimming pool available for free time and for accompanying family members.
Whichever you choose, this is the perfect opportunity to combine culinary delight with experiencing Umbrian lifestyle in an idyllic setting, close to many other delightful places to explore (Spello, Assisi, Perugia, Spoleto, Deruta, Sibillini mountains) as well as Monte Castello di Vibio, which boasts the smallest theatre in the world.
Monday evenings 140€ including dinner for 2
Tuesday-Friday mornings 120€ each course. All 4 courses 400€/person.
Lunch available 20€/person.
