Quasi Siciliana

Quasi Siciliana is a cookery blog by Kate Bailward. Kate is an Englishwoman who moved to Sicily in 2011. She cooks from her kitchen in the centro storico of Catania, overcoming such obstacles as only having a 3-ring gas camping stove, an electric countertop oven and a microwave to work with. Oh, and not being able to use the stove and the microwave before 7pm. And remembering not to forget that the washing machine and the oven used at the same time will overload the circuits and blow the whole flat’s electricity, necessitating a darkened stumble out of the apartment and down the stairs to find the tripswitch, while the cake in the oven falls flat.
