In an article in this week’s Seattle Times entitled “Don’t go: Places to avoid in Europe”, Rick Steves gave “a rundown on the best — and most boring — destinations.”
As far as Italy goes, there appeared to be no boring places to go whilst he singled out the following four destinations in Italy for special mention:
Ostia Antica as Europe’s most underrated sight.
Reifenstein in Northern Italy, for it’s medieval castle interior.
Varenna on Italy’s Lake Como for honeymooners.
Vernazza in the Cinque Terre, as the ultimate Riviera port town.
