Italy not exactly flavour of the month with Gogobot members in 2011

Gogobot, one of the top 50 Best Websites of 2011, has published it’s Year in Review for 2011.

Italy did not appear to fair that well with Gogobot members in 2011, with only one Italian destination in the top 15, 2 hotels in the top 100 and no restaurants in the top 50.

In the top 15 destinations Gogobot members travelled to see in 2011, Rome featured at No. 6 whilst in the Top 50 Attractions Gogobot members travelled to in 2011, Rome’s Colosseum featured at No. 7, the Trevi fountain at No.10, the Pantheon at no. 17, the Forum at no.23 and Piazza Navona at no. 29. Venice’s Piazza San Marco featured at no.39, the Vatican City’s, St Peter’s Basilica at no.43 and the Sistine Chapel at no.46.

In the top 100 Hotel category, only Rome ‘s The Beehive at no.2 and the Radisson Blu es. Hotel, at no.80 were featured.

Lastly, in the Top 50 Foodie Faves there were no restaurants in Italy mentioned.
